remember watching old movies?
maybe you'll have memories of a bicycle boy who is always cheerful in the morning, pedalling hard, and throwing papers into the garden of a house of a family. and soon, the cute house dog will come and fetch the newspaper and bring it into the house. here's something which i read on BBC which make me realise that things in the old days were much more simpler..
-quoted from BBC.com-
Becoming a paper boy or girl is a rite of passage for many children.
Perhaps more than any other part-time job, it educates the young future worker about the importance of getting up in the morning, of punctuality, of steadfastness.
While the rest of childkind slumbers, lost in a dreamscape of gaudy electronics and instant gratification, the hardy paperboy ventures out into the gloaming so householders can have their news in time for breakfast.
-unquote-
seriously, ont only does it makes the child be able to adapt to waking up in the morning and coping with punctuality better, it also helps save the environment!
pedalling on the bicycle certainly does not give out any bad gas like the motor vehicles does. am i right?!
so now, i wanna end my post with you guys picturing me saying... "
*sigh* those were the good old days!
