went to the norwegian seafood dinner last night..
it was a very last minute thing cos one of the clients couldnt make it so i had to be the reserve.. haha.. but it's great fun.. bought a dress and heels and aini and i took a cab to rush to swiss hotel where the dinner was held.
Upon stepping into the function room where the dinner was held, i was shock!
there's soooo many caucasians!! this is probably the first time i see so many caucasians gathering around in my life!! met people from turkey, russia, germany, hong kong, and of cos, norway!
then, there's speeches etc etc.. it was really about mingling around and making impressions. and when u are there, u just drink wine non stop. it was like red wine, white wine, red wine, white wine, everywhere!!!
u drink wine b4 dinner was served. u drink wine throughout dinner. u drink wine throughout dessert. u drink wine after dinner.. wine wine wine!!
Food was great. had a wonderful lot of sashimi.. love the Saba sashimi.. it was prefect! very very lovely! and the Herrings! was wonderful! esp the tomato based wan.. had a little agrument wif my colleague cos he insisted the prickled herring is nicer.. but i am sure the tomato one is nicer! missed the crabs which serene said is nice and we cant get it anywhere else here.. they are all gone when we want to get some! and the size of the prawns! wow! it was mama mia! beside being the first night where i see so many caucasians together, yesterday is probably the first night where i see sooo many kinds of salmon cooked in different ways!!! there's even prawns and salmon satays! hee!! oh! did i mentioned there's 4 kinds of caviar there? or was it 5? i oni tried two.. and loved them! it was great! but maybe a bit salty..hee..the desserts was fantastic! though it was sinful..hee..
ok.. enough abt the food.. think i had too many fish.. no more fishes for mi for the whole of next week.
meeting people is really the highlights. met 2 clients whom i always heard over the phone.. really nice to meet them in person! they are soo funny! haha.. the thought of them makes mi laugh! and met a lot more people from the same industry.. it was really a real eye opener.. been to quite a no of functions since joining my company.. but this is the largest i had been! and the grandest! guests are all in suits and gowns.. everyone is dressed up!
finally, i escape from all the red wines and white wines wif sharon.. haha..
but this dinner is really a very nice wan! they even got a singer from norway to entertain us.. it's really really fabulous! hope to go again next year!
